Abigail Marie Clancy Bio
Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English lingerie and catwalk models and a TV personality. In 2006, she was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) and in 2013, she was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing. Since 2015, she has been presenting Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born on July 7th 1965 in Liverpool. Clancy is the second of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton (a suburb of Liverpool) and attended St Mary's Primary and St Julie's Catholic High Schools. Clancy was a part of the girl band Genie Queen. They were directed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was selected as one of the thirteen finalists of Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model in summer 2006. Clancy was a contestant for a modeling contract for 10 weeks. Clancy along with co-contestant Lianna fowler made it to final runway show, where they were eventually crowned the runner-up. After appearing on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy modelled for several newspapers and magazines. Clancy was a model in Arena magazine in May 2007. He was featured on the cover wearing the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike. Clancy was selected to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was praised for her sporting connection and was photographed in only body paint for the magazine. Yu Tsai captured the image. Clancy was wearing an England shirt in Umbro's campaign in 2010, as well as other wives and girlfriends of players from winning nations. Clancy was a model in Giles Deacon's ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March of 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, Clancy was a part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign. She was included in a fashion-related editorial by Absynth Photographic, as well as a fashion film made by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on August's UK Esquire cover, photographed by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy, along with Suki Waterhouse (and Cara Delevingne) was included in LOVE magazine’s December 2013 Advent Calendar. Clancy made her debut on the cover of British Marie Claire's July 2014 issue and British Elle's March 2015. In October 2019, Abbey Clancy and her daughter Sophia Crouch collaborated with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand, for the Launch of the brand's AW'19 collection. The collection for AW19 was unveiled by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi, in January of 2020.
