Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th of November, 1967. She is best known for her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her frequent role on Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was a computer market researcher and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. They separated at the age of seven. Courtney was seven years old, and she was with both parents at different times. She has an older sister named Jennifer, who is an advertising executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton High school, in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in 1985. While in the high school, she also participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith's first film appearance was in the 1986 movie drama Lucas. She was joined by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim), and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she was a part of in several movies like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). In 1998, she appeared as a star in the box-office movie Chairman Of The Bank, which failed together with Carrot Top. In 2009 she was the lead in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was a fan of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the 1990s. In June 2000, she was married Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple split in the month of January. On January 1st in 2007, she wed Roger Fishman, president of the company that markets the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. At 40 years old, she gave birth on the morning of January 11 on the 11th of January, 2008, to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
